About Me

A portrait of me outside

My name is Dominic Rutkowski, and I am a rising junior studying computer science and mathematics at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. I am interested in computer systems, programming languages, robotics, and AI, and after college, I aspire to work as a software engineer. I am currently working at Roblox as a software engineering intern on the creator services communication team.

What I Do

I work on a variety of types of software, but I have the most experience with web apps. Most recently, I worked as a software engineering intern on the Architecture/FeatureScript team at Onshape, where I developed the front end of selective merge. Previously, I worked as a software development intern at a local life sciences software company called Bio::Neos. There, most of my experience involved writing web applications using Node.js and PHP. I also served as the lead programmer for my high school's robotics team: FRC Team 167. That role entailed writing Java code that worked closely with quickly evolving hardware. In both roles, and in my personal projects, I have worked with a variety of other technologies including HTML, CSS, Java, SQL, Docker, and Git.
